Rush Blue Line
will be discontinued after Friday September 29th. This is the free bus
that serves First Ward along 7th St. CATS stated that the Blue Line had
the worst ridership in the entire system and that ending this service
will save them $500K annually. First Ward will continue to be served by
Routes 3, 17, and 23.
National
Night Out will begin at 6:30pm on August 1st at the First Ward
Rec Center. Fun, Food, Games, & Great Prizes. Come party with the
Police, Charlotte Mayor, various members of the Charlotte City Council
and your fellow neighbors.
UNC
Charlotte recently received funding to build a satelite
campus in First Ward at the corner of Brevard and 9th St. The building
is currently in the design phase with construction expected to begin in
2007.
